Support for Resolving Error Message in Dell® Printer on Windows® XP
Are you puzzled as to why you get error messages in your WindowsXP Dell Printer?
There are a number of Windows XP Dell printer codes that all originate from a series of issues with the printer. Many have to do with printer computer communication, while others simply have to do with the cartridges and how they are aligned within the printer. The solutions to these printer problems, however, are relatively simple and require very little work on the part of the user.
The common errors with XP Dell printers are as follows:
- Error message “ 80040154”
- Error with installation of drivers
- Error message “50c”
Error message “80040154”
One of the most common error messages is “Could not create object named ‘WScript.shell’.” This error message code is “80040154”. The user will find that this error only occurs when the printer has not been installed correctly. The user should disconnect the printer and download the printer cleanup utility (also known as the patch). Then the user should run the patch until prompted to restart the computer. Once the user has restarted his computer, he should install the XP drivers necessary for the printer. A message will then display that reads, “The printer is not connected.” At this point, the user should connect the printer while it is powered on. This should fix the problem for this particular error code. There are a number of reasons as to why the printer will not install correctly the computer has a Malware, there are problems with the USB ports or cables, there are virus programs or firewalls set up that stop the printer from communicating with the printer, or there is simply an issue with the computer itself. However, the most common problem is that the drivers are not installed properly.
Error with installation of drivers
The common errors that occur all have to do with the installation of the drivers. If they are not installed properly, the printer will not be recognized by the computer. Other issues may have to do with having the wrong driver installed. If this is the case, an error will appear reading, roughly, “There is a problem with ‘Spooler SubSystem App’.” The error code is “800a0046”. If the driver is incorrect, the user should first uninstall the current driver and upload the new driver. Once the new driver has been uploaded from the manufacturer’s website, the user should install the driver and restart his computer. Once the computer has rebooted, the printer should be recognized by the computer and function properly.
Error message 50c
Another common error is the “50C “error. The printer usually displays the instructions “Consult Users Guide”; however, the main issue may be that the printer is reading the cartridges as defective. This results in the user’s printer does not print usually as a result of self-refilling. If this is so, the user should clean the electrical contacts on the cartridge with Isopropyl Alcohol, concentration 90%. The best solution would be to buy new cartridges. The most common solution, however, is to purchase new cartridges.
