Support for Resoving Error Message in EPSON® Printer on Windows® XP
What are the common errors associated with Epson Printers
A common and critical error with WindowsXP Epson printer is that there are easy solutions available for most errors. Though the solution is easy, it has become increasingly common for this error to not be resolved, and therefore a new unit being purchased all together. Though the cause is seemingly innocuous and easy to fix, the resulting issues are almost irreversible.
Common errors with Epson Printers on Windows XP:
- Ink cartridge-related errors
- Printing-related errors
Ink cartridge-related errors
One of the most common errors with the Epson printer is an “E-90” error. This error is fatal, many times the only solution is to contact the manufacturer. If the machine is still under warranty, the company is obligated to help the user. However, in other circumstances, the damage to the printer is so fatal that it would be less costly to replace the printer all together than to request repairs be done to preserve the printer itself. What is so strange about this particular error is that usually occurs when the user inserts a new black ink cartridge. Though this is usually harmless, if not installed properly it can prove to be fatal for the printer. If the user is so inclined, he may reset the ink cartridge, ensuring that it is secure and installed properly; however, if the “E-90” error has occurred, the damage has already been done to the printer and cannot be fixed directly the company must be called and the goods replaced or repaired.
Another common error is the printer itself will not print correctly. At times, the page may print out half way and the rest of the document remains blank. Other times black may not print on a page. In this instance, sometimes a simple cleaning of the cartridge heads will do the trick, ensuring that the user has no further problems with the colors being printed. In fact, the most common cause of the printer not printing a particular color or only printing the page half way is a print head clog. The user should attempt to run the print head utility two or three times to try to clear the nozzle. In case this solution does not work, the user should perform a head cleaning and then print a nozzle check pattern --these two actions must be performed in a cycle. The user should then examine the dot pattern of the nozzle printout. Every line should be complete and if they are not the user should perform another cycle --up to three if necessary. However, most find that the best way to solve this problem is to simply buy a print head cleaning kit and clean the nozzle and print head manually.
