What are the tips to resolve issues with HP Deskjet printer?
HP DeskJet printer features include a traditional printer, scanner and copier. The features are conveniently packaged into one product; the multiple features leave more room for technical issues. For instance, the printer may be able to print, but you can have problems with scanning or copying. The printer is connected to the computer through an add-in device, remove the add-in device and connect the parallel cable to the printer and directly to the port on the back of the computer. The printer prints successfully, the cable might have been connected properly, or the add-in device might have been interrupting communication with the printer. The printer vents are located on the sides of the printer the vents are covered and the printer overheats, the printer automatically turns off.
The possible issues that can occur with HP Deskjet printer and tips to resolve them are as following:
- Self-test report
- Removal process
- Make a blank copy
Print a self-test report on your HP Deskjet as the first troubleshooting step. Press and hold down the cancel buttons and power. When you release both buttons the self-test report prints. Then examine the report; if you see any missing, faded or streaky lines, you may need to change your printer cartridges. Clear paper jams, if you are receiving a paper jam error message on your computer or printer. Turn off the printer and open the rear access door. Locate and remove the jammed paper.
You need to reload paper if you are receiving an out of paper error message. You can remove the paper from the feed tray at the front of your HP. Then place it back in your print job again and clean the scanner glass if you are experiencing vertical bands, lines or streaks in any copies or scans. You need to turn off the printer and open the top lid to expose the scanner glass. Spray the glass cleaner on your cloth and wipe the scanner with a dry cloth and copy job again.
You can make a blank copy to determine whether you need to have your printer serviced. Load plain white paper into the paper tray and press the copy button. If the copy contains streaks, lines or bands lines, you might need to have the printer serviced. If you reset the HP Deskjet printer and it is still not responding, then turn off the printer and then disconnect the power cord both from the wall outlet and the back of your printer. Wait for some seconds, turn on the printer and then try to take print, scan or copy job again.
