Turn off the printer and open it to see where the paper is stuck. Manually move the carriage toward the opposite side. Check the paper path and remove any piece of paper or any other object that is stuck in the path. Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.

The paper used for printing should not be wet, torn or folded from any side as this can cause paper jam, hence resulting in carriage jam. Also, use only one type of paper at a time while printing. The paper should be added to the In-tray only when the printer is not in use. Make sure not to overfill the In-tray.

The blinking of the light indicator or orange light indicates that there is a printer error. This includes paper jam, carriage jam, issue with the ink or toner cartridge or other serious errors.
