Exoskeleton – 3D printed shoes inspired by alien life forms
Getting a pair of shoes specifically designed as per your needs and preferences is quite challenging, especially when we want to look totally different from others. Getting a pair of uniquely designed and custom made shoes is always a welcome thought, but can each one of us afford such a lifestyle? Perhaps the ever lowering costs of 3D printers and day-by-day developments in the arena of 3D printing technology, this might be possible. But until this dream of ours materializes, we might want to ogle over a pair of 3D-printed shoes that has been inspired by alien life forms and skeletal details.
Exoskeleton 3D-printed otherworldly looking shoes
Janina Alleyne, a UK-based fashion footwear designer, has designed some high heels that are certainly going to haunt your nightmares for years to come. Out of the three set of shoes that have been uniquely designed by Alleyne using a 3D modeler Inner Leaf, the first pair of shoes called the Exoskeleton features alien flowing lines, a spiky top, and an array of small and creepy teeth at the toes. A first look at the shoes gives an impression as if they have been left behind by a visitor from other world.
The Exoskeleton was printed in two pieces using a 3D printer. The two separately printed pieces were joined together later on. The other two set of shoes from this weird-looking collection are the ‘Reptile’ and the ‘Scorpion’. The ‘Reptile’ is a strappy looking pair of shoes, whereas the ‘Scorpion’ is an unstable-looking fusion of ‘Exoskeleton’ and ‘Reptile’.
