In order to clear print spooler, right click on your 'My Computer' icon and click on 'Manage > Services and Applications > Services' and right click on 'Print Spooler'. Choose Stop to halt the service temporarily. Minimize the Window, again click on 'My Computer', go to your C drive or another primary hard drive, click on Windows folder > System32 folder > Spool folder > Printers folder and select the jobs that you want to clear. If you want to clear the entire print spooler, then press Ctrl + A and press 'Delete' button. Now, you have cleared your print spooler and you can close the Window.
Document hung up
Sometimes, you may find that some document you gave command of printing has hung up and it has also blocked other files from getting printed. The first thing you can do in that case is to go to your Control Panel, open your Printers and Faxes and delete the file. If the message says 'Deleting' and it is taking forever, then you can go to your Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services > Print Spooler and select Stop. While this Window is open, turn off your printer, right click on Print Spooler and click on Start. Then, go to your Start menu, select Printers and Faxes, select the printer that you are getting problems with, double click on it and select 'Cancel All Documents'. After this, turn on your printer and now, you will be able to use your printer as usual.
If you want to print a document that is not being done, then the first thing you need to do is to delete the printing job. But, if you are not even able to delete it, then your Print Spooler must have got choked. In order to clear Print Spooler with this problem, you will have to click on your 'Start' button, click on 'Run', type 'Net stop spooler' and press 'Enter'. Click on 'C: > Windows > System 32 > Spool > Printers' and delete all the files. Once you have deleted all the spool files, you can start it again to operate the printer as usual.
