Open the registry windows by typing 'Regedit' in the 'Run' command. Navigate to the 'HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionWindows' registry key. Now right-click on the whitespace in the center details pane and select 'New to String Value'. In the new window, enter 'Device' in the 'Value name' and in the 'Value' tab enter 'Win2PDF, winspool, Ne00:' where 'Win2PDF' is the name of your printer. Save changes to finish off the process.
Changing Default Printer
You can change the default settings of a printer from registry through the following steps. Open the registry by typing 'Regedt32.exe' in the 'Run' command and find the key '[HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionWindows]'. Now add or edit the value of Device according to your need to make a printer to become default printer. Your default printer is now changed.
Open the registry editor by typing 'regedit' in the 'Run' command. Navigate to locate 'HKEY_CURRENT_USERPrinters' and right click the registry key to select 'Export'. Now browse to select the location you want to store the backup key. Now right click to delete and locate 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlPrint'. Now save the backup copy and finish off the process to save.
