How to Find the IP Address of a Network Printer
Some of the most popular features found on modern printers are duplex printing options. A network printer is so called because the printer can be connected to a network cable which in turn feeds numerous different computer consoles. These types of printer tend to be hugely popular in offices of varying sizes, educational facilities and even homes that have a fair few computer systems. The network printer often has to deal with multiple tasks at any time. They also have better paper capacity and it contains a tray that can hold hundreds of sheets. Need to find IP address
The IP address of any device that is attached to a computer system can be used to connect the device to a network so that other computer systems or devices can use it as well. If you are setting up a network and you want a printer to be included, the printer's IP address would be good to know otherwise you will not include the printer in the network. To make the connection properly, you have to enter the IP address manually.
Finding IP address
Every network printer or print server has a unique IP address associated with it. This address is either configured manually or set using an automatic network protocol such as the boot protocol, reverse address resolution protocol or zeroconf. You can normally find the IP address of a printer on the printer's control panel or by printing the configuration page. Select the printers and faxes tab from the control panel. Right click on the printer those you want to find the IP address and click properties. Then click on the ports tab to display the IP address of your printer.
When you first install a network printer or print server on your local area network, you need to set the IP address. Higher end workgroup printers allow you to set the IP address through the printer control panel. If you have many printers you will have to assign the addresses remotely, this makes administration a bit easier and avoids assigning duplicate addresses accidentally.
