When to clean your inkjet printer?

White lines across the printouts indicate that the ink nozzles of your color inkjet printer need to be cleaned.

How to clean inkjet printer at home?

The first thing to do before you start the cleaning of your inkjet printer is to collect the supplies that you need i.e. a soft cloth and fluid meant for cleaning plastic objects. If no such special cleaning agent is available, plain water will be sufficient. Avoid alcohol or strong cleaning agents. When all the things needed are with you, switch off the printer and dampen the cloth with water or cleaning fluid. Make sure that the cloth is not dripping. Wipe the outside of your inkjet printer with damp cloth.

Once the external body has been cleaned, see if there is any cleaning button on your inkjet printer’s control panel. Use it, if it is there. This will initiate cleaning using the printer’s cleaning utility software. A neat and clean printer cartridge is also a must clean area. Therefore, remove each cartridge carefully and wipe excess ink gently. Make sure that any traces of fibrous material are not left around the exit ports. Remove the paper tray and check underneath for dust and paper shreds.

If the printer has not been used for some time, it is necessary to clean the printer head. To do so, go to the control panel and printers. From here you would be able to run diagnostic programs and get the printer running smoothly again without any kind of visible printing issues.
