Common Printing Problems
There are certain printing problems which all of us have faced once or the other in our lives. Most of them are quite common, while some are a bit difficult to solve. Even if you have not faced any problem with printing, you need to get a good knowledge of these and how to troubleshoot them, for a better running of your printer. Again, printer problems are quite common today and a good knowledge of them might save your time and money. Among the most persistent and common problems are that, the printer refuses to respond or print even when it is connected and powered up adequately and correctly following all the manufacturer’s instructions.

What to do if a printer connected to the network does not print?
This problem may be caused with the physical printer. It can also be with the logical printer setting on the client, or due to computer network protocols or hardware. The first thing to be checked is the basic network connectivity. To make sure whether you can see the server, you need to check the rights, protocols, share names, and so on. Then you have to try to copy a file to the server. If you are unable to access the server, that means, you will not be able to access the printer as well. You then need to check the accuracy of the printer availability time in the 'Advanced' tab and may have to create a local printer.
What are the other common problems?
Among the other common problems, we may include, slow printing. Again, in most cases, the people who use Windows 95 or Windows 98 cannot connect to a printer. Sometimes when you try to configure a printer from an application, you are denied access. There are also problems with the hard disk sometimes and this prevents the documents from reaching the print server. Again the documents already on the print server may not print, neither can they be deleted. Then there are everyday problems with printing qualities, incomplete print outs, blurred and faded inks and so on.
The cause of slow printing of multiple languages could be that, they are not installed on the print server computer as opposed to the client computer. The simple way is therefore to just add those languages on your PC as well. Now, for people using Windows 95 and 98, it becomes next to impossible to connect to a printer. This is because the print drivers for windows 2003 service pack 3 and on does not match those of the Windows 95 or 98 and are not installed in those versions. You have to therefore see to it that the proper printer driver is installed and also be careful about it that the user has print permission.
