What are Inkjet printers and how are they different from deskjet and laser printers?
Printers are the hardware devices which would produce hard copies of the data present in the system. For working of printer, you need to install the drivers for that. Then only that device would work. Inkjet printer is a type of printer which would produce a digital image by propelling varying sized droplets on the paper. When you look at paper that comes out of Inkjet printer, you could see that the dots are very small (between 50 and 60 microns in diameter). They have the resolutions of up to 1440x720 dots per inch (dpi). These dots are of different colors for producing the photo images.

Difference between Inkjet and Deskjet printers
Deskjet is brand name which is present for Inkjet printers manufactured by Hewlett-Packard Company. These printers range from small domestic to largest models. The Deskjet printer prints up to three pages per minute. Inkjet refers to type of technology. While the deskjet is the brand name, deskjets are unusual among the inkjet printers in featuring disposable print head, inexpensive and built into the cartridge itself. Print quality is achieved in deskjet compared to Inkjet since the head is replaced frequently, along with the ink.
Inkjet and Laser printers
Inkjet printers generally work by spraying ink onto a page. They are cheap, but the print quality might not be so good due to the paper used and the quality of the ink. While you analyze the paper prints from laser and inkjets you could find that the laser has smoother edges to the fonts. Even though, the inkjet printer is cheap, the ink to be used in this is expensive. You also need to replace the ink cartridges when you have to print a lot and during printing of pictures. But in Laser printer, the toners would rarely need to be changed. If you use Laser at home you don’t need to change the toner.
DPI (dots per inch) is most probably used term for measuring the resolution. Higher the resolution, better would be the quality of prints. A cheap Inkjet printer would be 1200 by 1200 DPI. The expensive model of Inkjet is having 4800 by 1200 DPI. While in the case of Laser a less expensive Laser printer would offer 600 by 600 DPI. Expensive models would go up to 2400 by 2400 DPI. In the case, Inkjet printer prints faster than Laser. Speed is generally measured in PPM or pager per minute.
