Windows® 7 Network Printer

What are the issues that can occur while installing network printer in Windows 7?
A network printer can be defined as a peripheral device that produces documents in electronic form on any of the common media of physical print. The network printer has built in network interfaces so that it can be used as the printing device of any sources such as computers in the network. A network printer can be integrated with the network either wirelessly or by means of Ethernet cable to the network. Installing a network printer to Windows 7 based computer will allow all of the computers currently connected to that network to make use of the same printer. The installation of a network printer will save both money and time, as we will no longer require either an individual printer for each computer or moving the required data to one computer with a printer connected. In all the ways, the network printer is more useful and better than conventional printers.
Following are the issues that occur while installing network printer in Wndows 7 based computer:
- Installing network printer on Windows 7
- Network printer detection issue
- Bluetooth or wireless printer detection issue
Installing network printer on Windows 7
Open 'Printers' section in control panel to check all the printers installed on your computer. Select 'Add a Printer' box to view an option to 'Add a network, wireless, or Bluetooth printer'. The selection of this option will make the computer to search for network printers available. It is required to ensure that the network printer is connected properly. Thereafter, select the network printer and proceed to printer-naming screen. After naming the printer, select an option 'Print a test page' to check whether the installation was successful. If the printing tasks complete, click 'Finish' option to complete the installation.
Network printer detection issue
It is a very common issue that occurs during the installation of network printer in Windows Operating System. Sometimes, add printer wizard will not show the particular printer that we want to install. This can be solved by manually finding and adding the printer. This is done by opening 'add printer wizard'. Then, selecting 'add a network printer' will take you to explore a printer by name or TCP/IP address page where you can enter your printer manually to install the printer.
Bluetooth or wireless printer detection issue
It is the issue that occurs due to inability of 'Add printer wizard' to detect the Bluetooth printer connected to the network. It has to make sure that your Bluetooth adapter is plugged in to your computer and turned on, and your Bluetooth printer is turned on. You can remove the connection to Bluetooth printer, and retry to detect it using 'Add Printer Wizard'.
