Print Queue In Microsoft® Windows® 7
Tips to view print queue in windows 7 system.
In the terms of computing, a print job means a set of files submitted to the printer for printing. The jobs are detected by the unique number that is assigned by a particular printer. The jobs have the options for the size of media, priority and number of copies. Microsoft Windows never allow removing a print job even it is hanging. This is because the operating system can do it only after getting the confirmation from the corresponding printer. The print queue is the list of print jobs that are waiting to be printed on a particular printer. If the printer hangs then the print job will also stuck in the print queue. This problem can be solved by just restarting the computer but in some cases, it will not work. By viewing the print queue, the user will get the information about the documents that are waiting to be printed such as number of pages to print, printing status, etc. Also by using the print queue the user can view, resume, pause, cancel and restart the print jobs. For viewing the print queue, click on the 'Start' button followed by control panel. Now click on hardware and sound and then on printers. For opening the queue double click on the 'Printer'.

In the command prompt, type net stop spooler and press 'Enter' tab. You will get a message that the spooler is stopping. Now type del %systemroot%\System32\spool\prtiners\* /Q’ and press 'Enter'. You may also delete the printer queue using the batch file. For that you have to write a code that starts with @echo off in a notepad. Then save that note pad as 'ClearPrinterQueue.bat'.
