Troy based FISHER/UNITECH has been a reseller of Minneapolis based Stratasys Inc. for more than a decade and now, the company announces one more printer of Stratasys – the first ever Cross-Over 3D printer called Fortus 250mc Production 3D Printer. The printer is said to combine affordability with ease of use. The printer features Insight Software that propels the operation of Fortus 3D Production Systems. The major benefits of this printer are its part accuracy, build speed, and extensive specification list. Based on the fused deposition modeling (FDM) process, The Fortus 250mc uses additive manufacturing technique.
Uses of Fortus 250mc Production 3D Printer
The Fortus 250mc Production 3D Printer is a great option to build functioning manufacturing tools such as fixtures, jigs etc. The FDM method is a feasible substitute to standard metal-cutting manufacturing methods that include turning, milling, etc. Additive manufacturing technique in Fortus 250mc can be placed houses thus helping users to save expenses on company based manufacturing processes such as production, documentation, warehousing, raw materials.
As per Joe Rocca, Director of Rapid Technology at FISHER/UNITECH, the main spokesperson of the company, the printer is priced under $45,000. Despite such economical price tag, the printer houses prototyping functionality and 3D printing in one system. The Fortus 250mc is a perfect option for both small and large machine shops that employ additive technology to their processes.
The Fortus 250mc Production 3D Printer comes with a build envelope of 10x10x12 inches (254x254x305mm) and three build layer options that are 0.007, 0.010 and 0.013 inches (0.178, 0.254 and 0.330mm. respectively). The printer uses ABSplus thermoplastic to build parts since ABSplus thermoplastic offer exceptional impact strength, flexural strength, tensile strength, and bonding strength for tough applications. ABSplus in Fortus 250mc comes in different colors white, ivory, fluorescent yellow, blue, red, black, olive green, nectarine, and gray. The Fortus 250mc Production 3D Printer provides users with a 12-month warranty and is available for shipment.
