Apple® releases updates for printer driver and QuickTime 7.7
Apple is the name that has always been among the primary choices of people, over the ages, for its authenticity. It proudly boasts of several worthy innovations, most of which have had a huge mass appeal. Here, appears in the scene, yet another release from Apple. This time it is the driver updates to supply additional support for printer and scanner devices from HP, Samsung, and Brother. These updates support all the printer drivers supported on OS X, specifically OS X 10.6. Apple devices its drivers using Common Unix Printing System (CUPS) which helps in easy adjustment into any new printer model that comes across.
There are not much new characters that this driver updates by Apple produce, as compared to the others. Hence, if the status of your printer is already hale and hearty, then there is no need of pro-actively updating the driver. An effort to do so might just act otherwise and alter the configuration and smooth running of the printer.
However, in case the printers drivers genuinely need to be updated, it is advised to check the software update first, that is available in a small and tailored download version. Installing this downloaded update once will enable OS X to automatically download the same in future while installing the printer on the operating system.
Other than the driver update, Apple has also issued an update for QuickTime in OS X Leopard, which brings the version to 7.7. This update requires the OS X 10.5 or the later versions and is available as a 69MB download through Software Update. This update, aims to render security while managing media with the Quick Time programs.
