Printer Portability Rediscovered with Brother® PocketJet 600

This recently launched portable printer comes in four models that include a variety of connectivity and internal-storage features. The models PJ-622 and PJ-662 offer 203 x 200 dpi printing resolution and PJ-623 and PJ-663 models print with a resolution of 300 x 300 dpi. The PJ-662 and PJ-663 also support Bluetooth besides USB connectivity.

Compatible with Windows and Mac, every model weighs less than about 500 grams. Hence, you can easily fit any of them into your briefcase or your computer bag and carry it to any work area. “Because PocketJet prints in A4, it’s considered ideal for printing documents where more detailed information is required, such as invoices, service reports, and delivery notes.” said a Brother spokesperson.

What is so unique about these printers is that they do not use ink cartridges or toner ribbons and work on thermal print technology. This technology uses a specially coated thermal paper that passes over a heated print head, which turns black to create the printed pattern as the paper reacts. The advantage is that it allows a compact footprint that reduces all the risks related with ink spills. Each printer features a rechargeable battery and a USB adapter with an AC adapter.

Due to their compact size and less weight, these printers can be used in various applications. According to Brother, the possibilities and advantages are limitless as they can be used in field sales and services, logistics and deliveries, and in public safety and emergency services.
