Canon® Coming up with a Manufacturing Unit at Philippines
Laser printers are in a great demand in the market owing to their superior quality prints. Gauging at the pulse of the market, Japanese giant Canon has unveiled their plans of coming up with their manufacturing unit at Philippines, next year April.
Canon revealed that this decision is the result of the anticipated future demand of these competitively priced laser printers. By setting up the manufacturing unit, Canon will be able to smoothly fulfill the global demands. Also, the reason for choosing Philippines is the fact that the country provides ready labor supply and majority of the workforce is well versed in English, the universal language.
The construction of the manufacturing unit will begin this year April and is proposed to get completed by April 2013. The factory will be located at Batangas and is expected to employ around 5,000 people by the year 2014.
Canon already has 2 existing subsidiaries based in Philippines.
