MakerBot Industries is planning to bring the wonderful technology of 3D printing to the common man. The Brooklyn-based startup has been making news for ceating a new 3D desktop printer - MakerBot. The printer has been used extensively for various printing purposes since it was launched. MakerBot Industries was incepted in the year 2009 with a main aim of making 3D printing reach the masses. The vision it seems is becoming true.
The MakerBot 3D printer has been in news for creating 3D printed glasses that were used in the Fashion Week in New York this February. The founders – Bre Pettis, Adam Mayer and Zach Smith have high hopes regarding their plans of making the 3D printer available across the world.
Bre Pettis puts it across saying : “There are many similarities between the personal computing industry and the personal manufacturing industry. He compares his machines to early personal computers like the Apple.”
