Multifunction Peripherals, popularly known as MFPs, is performing better in the market worldwide as compared to its counterparts. IDC (International Data Corporation) reports have clearly proved that the segment of printers witnessed a skyrocketing growth as compared to single functioning printers. The major chunk of growth was witnessed in the Q4 last year.
According to the market trends, the market of color laser printers had seen a growth with an increase of 7%. However, it was the MFPs that got a 17% rise in the graph as compared to single function printers that witnessed a 1% drop.
Among the printers manufacturing giants in the industry, HP maintained its number one position followed by Canon at second and Epson as the third.
"We expect the overall inkjet, color, and monochrome MFP markets will increase as the switch from single-function printers continues in 2012," said Phuong Hang, program manager, Worldwide Hardcopy Peripheral Trackers.
