University of Northern Iowa initiates cost cutting program

University of Northern Iowa has recently announced the closure of its printing services. The university authorities have taken this step to ensure that cost cutting is carried out at the university premises. The step will help the university save more than $400,000. The last day to send a print job is March 23rd. However, the service will end on June 30.
DeWayne Purdy, the electronic communication manager in the Office of University Relations, said, "There's less being printed because people are putting more things on the web and a lot of departments also have high-speed copiers of a certain level where they can do smaller jobs themselves."
In addition to the elimination of above services, Price Lab and UNI Museum will also be closed by June 30, thereby saving $200,000 per annum. There will also be savings for required renovations in addition to the capital funds.
