Fluctuations in Sales Graph of Printers
There was a downfall in the shipments of multi-function printers (MFPs) by 2.6 percent by the 4th quarter last year. However, according to IDC, things seem positive in times to come.
Arnaud Gagneux, director of the Western Europe imaging hardware and document offerings group at IDC said: “In the current economic climate, consumers are turning away from printing at home while businesses are making sure that they can benefit from all the new features the latest MFPs and printers can offer. Documents are being digitized and workflows streamlined in an attempt by businesses to drive costs out of the business and increase efficiencies.”
According to the studies, among the entire Western Europe, the United Kingdom has performed well comparatively in the Q4 since the shipments grew at 1.5 percent. It was the business inkjet that was sold the most among all. However, the consumer inkjet printers witnessed a fall in sales.
These erratic fall and rise in the sale of printers are expected to get normal in 2012.
