Sharp® rolls out two new light-production color printers

The United Kingdom and Europe branches of Sharp have announced the roll-out of two new light-production color printer systems – the 70ppm Sharp MX-7040N and the 60-ppm Sharp MX-6240N. Both the printers systems are designed for corporate reprographic departments, print-for-pay shops, and high-volume office printing.

According to Sharp, both the multifunction printers (MFPs) have been designed keeping user-friendliness in mind to facilitate even un-skilled users to operate them. Marc Brion, European Product Planning Manager for Sharp Information Systems Europe, says, “What we’ve done with these two new MFPs is to automate as many technical processes as possible, so that non-technical staff can produce predictable and consistent results… We wanted to create a light production system that can be used by anyone and everyone with minimal effort.”
Both the printer systems come equipped with Sharp’s 10.1-inches touch-and-swipe color touchscreen designed for making operation as easy as possible. Besides the finger-swipe control interface, there’s an on-screen ‘action panel’ which gives step-by-step guidance to first time users. Sharp claims that it has incorporated a number of image quality enhancements in both the printers. The printers come with 5,120 MB memory; 1,024-GB hard drive; USB 2.0 port; 10Base-T/100Base-TX-1000Base-T Ethernet network interface, and are compatible with Microsoft Windows XP/Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2008 R2/Windows Vista; Windows 7; and Apple Mac OS.
