Save Money, Print Green
Oregon, which was earlier known as GreenPrint Technologies in Canada, has released the beta version of GreenPrint Advisor software for efficient printing. This software can connect to printers in home or business set-up and guide you for efficient and cost-saving printing. It moves the printing task from inefficient to the most efficient and economical printers.
GreenPrint Advisor focusing on green printing has classified the printers in three categories. These sections have been further classified into three different colors, namely red, yellow, and green. The red color signifies the printers that cost high. These are the least ecologically conscious printers. Yellow-coded printers fall in the mid range. They are somewhat economical and cheap. The green color signifies the most environmental-friendly printers. Apart from being ecologically safe, they cost least and help in saving money too. Although the color codes are automatically set, they can be adjusted according to the needs of the user. IT administrators can change these codes and give the money spent in printing per page.
When a user prints a document, he is asked to choose a printer. Suppose the user opts for a printer which has been labeled red by this software, then the software will pop up a message. The message will showcase the ratings of the printer and the high cost that will be required in printing. Explaining that, the GreenPrint Advisor software will advise the user to choose green-labeled printer for better results. Thus, if confirmed, the software will transfer the printing of that particular document from red to green-labeled printer.
The makers of the software claim that if used by a large scale company, GreenPrint Advisor can help in saving millions of money lost over printing. This will also help in cutting the energy costs to a great extent. This will also help in stopping the wastage of paper.
Saving the environment along with cutting down the expenses is the most desirable combo today. The ability of GreenPrint Advisor to divert from bad printing decision to ‘green printing’ is definitely going to be of great help to users.
